How Fast Is Your Hampster?

How Fast Is Your Hampster?

You watch Sparky run on his exercise wheel and he seems to be going very fast.

But is he really going fast, or does he just look fast because frankly Sparky is a little portly and you are surprised that he can run at all?

Technology finally has an answer. Introducing our hamster speedometer DIY kit also known as the HC-020K Motor Speed Sensor Module.

Sure, you can do boring things with it like measuring the speed of a motor to monitor how fast your robotic vehicle is traveling, but where’s the fun in that?

Hamster tech is frankly falling behind, and it is time that we band together to help bring it into the 21st century.

Hook this gadget up to the wheel pivot point and your favorite microcontroller.  Then it is just a matter of applying some 7th grade math that you probably forgot by the 8th grade (which is why Google was created).  And yes, this may be your only opportunity in life to finally use that πr² formula that you had to learn in school.

Measuring Sparky’s athletic prowess is finally at your fingertips.  In fact, these come in a 2-pack so you can even drag race your hamsters against each other.

Disclaimer:  No, we do not actually condone drag racing hamsters.  Gerbils, mice and rats are much better suited for that purpose.
