Description
The Teensy 4.1 board supports 1 or 2 of these 8-pin 8MB PSRAM chips to expand the memory on the module to 8 or 16MB.
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
- ESP PSRAM64H or compatible SMD IC
KEY FEATURES OF 8MB PSRAM:
- 8MB (64 Mbit) memory
- SPI / QPI Interface
- 133MHz clock rate
These ICs provide additional volatile memory for the Teensy 4.1 board.
The smaller footprint supports one of these 8MB PSRAM chips. In addition a second PSRAM can also be installed on the larger footprint providing a total of 16MB additional memory. If only one PSRAM is being installed, it must be positioned on the smaller pads.
The larger footprint will also support a Flash memory chip instead.
Use the extRAM_t4 library to work with PSRAM.
Use this Teensy41_psram_memtest to test the memory chip is properly mounted.
The approved compatible PSRAM chips which are interchangeable include the following. We normally ship ESP PSRAM64H, but your order may be filled with any of these parts.
- IPUS IPS6404LSQ
- ESP PSRAM64H
- AP 6404L-3SQR
You can find a little more info on adding the memory chips here on the PJRC site.
Preassembled Teensy 4.1 Fully Loaded
If additional memory on the Teensy 4.1 sounds great but the soldering of SMD chips sounds less great, we have the Teensy 4.1 Fully Loaded. It the pins and Ethernet header installed with the option for this 8MB PSRAM chip and either a 2nd 8MB PSRAM chip for 16MB total, 16MB Flash, 128MB NAND Flash or 256MB NAND Flash chip in the 2nd location. Click on the pic for more detailed information.
Notes:
- The ICs come on tape which is normally cut and packaged one IC per ESD bag. We sometimes also have larger lengths of cut tape available.
