These heavy-duty panel mount binding posts come in a 2-pack with both red and black posts. The post is flat for easier gripping and tightening of the post onto a terminal. Attachment hardware is M8 nuts.
The top of the post accepts a standard 4mm banana plug for lower current connections or it can be tightened down on a 5/16″ or 3/8″ ring or spade terminal for higher current applications. Wire attachment on the bottom portion of of the post can be made using a ring or spade terminal under the locking nuts.
For maximum current handling capability, the proper size wire and spade or ring terminals need to be used with the clamping action on both the top and bottom of the binding post. When using the banana jack connection, the current typically needs to be limited to 15A or less depending on the particular banana plug and wire used to make the connection.
These jacks are a heavy duty type and work well for higher power custom power supplies or test fixtures.
