Description
This 400 tie-point solderless breadboard adapter makes it easy to work with temporary solderless breadboard circuits when using the Prototyping or Project System for Teensy 4.1 baseboards.
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
- Solderless Breadboard Adapter – Fully assembled
KEY FEATURES OF SOLDERLESS BREADBOARD ADAPTER:
- Uses the Pro Line 400 tie-point solderless breadboard with phosphor bronze contacts
- Female headers on ends of breadboard give access to all Teensy 4.1 I/O pins
- Allows circuits can remain intact when removed from system
- Power rails are pre-wired
- 3.3 or 5V power select jumper for power rails
- Fully assembled
We have found these breadboard adapters to be very convenient for working with temporary breadboard circuits.
The baseboard with Breadboard Adapter can be moved around as a unit without anything getting disconnected. Because the breadboard, power and signal jump points are all contained on the adapter, the entire adapter can be temporarily removed and then replaced later without having to wire anything back up.
One of these adapters comes with the Fully Stuffed version of the Prototyping System for Teeny 4.1, but having a couple of these adapters makes it easy to switch back and forth between several solderless breadboard projects which can be handy if you like to bounce back and forth between a couple of projects without having to rewire circuits each time. It can also be useful when working with the Project System for Teensy 4.1 baseboard to test out circuits before hardwiring.
Power Selection
The two 4-pin headers on the front and back sides of the solderless breadboard supply either 3.3V or 5V as well as ground to the two power rails with short jumpers. Each header has 2 power and 2 ground connections in case you want to double up.
The voltage to be used on the power rails is selected using a jumper on the front left side of the adapter as shown here. In this case, the jumper is set for 3.3V operation.
If it is desired to use an external power source, the jumper can be removed and the power connected to the center pin of the 1×3 header. If you instead want to apply external power directly to the power rails, be sure to first remove the jumper to disconnect the power rails from the Prototyping System power supply.
Board Mounting
The board plugs into the outer 24-pin female headers on the Prototyping and Project System for Teensy 4.1 baseboards.
