MEGA 2560 Proto Shield and SYB-170 Breadboard

Description

This MEGA 2560 Proto Shield and SYB-170 Breadboard mounts on top of an Arduino MEGA 2560 or compatible and provides both a solder type prototyping surface as well as an SYB-170 solderless breadboard that can be temporarily or permanently mounted to the shield.

KEY FEATURES OF MEGA 2560 PROTO SHIELD:

The shield brings the I/O up to the top of the board  including the double row header that includes D22 – D53.  These are terminated in solder pads that can have male or female headers installed if desired.  It also has some additional Gnd and 5V pads added to one end.  It does not bring the more recently added SCL/SDA and 5V pins to the top.

The shield provides a remote reset button and remote ICSP header.  There is a power LED as well as the on-board LED connected to pin 13 that is labeled ‘STAT’ on the board.

The solder prototyping area includes an SOIC-28 solder footprint which is brought out to solder pad locations with over 300 additional solder pads.

The shield includes an SYB-170 solderless breadboard with 170 solderless tie-points.

Our Evaluation Results:

These are nice assemblies with good build quality.

Note that the male headers that insert into the MEGA 2560 are offset from the female headers on top of the board so the board extends about 3mm out from the MEGA 2560 to one side and 5mm on the end with the double-row header.  This is shown in one of the pics.

Before They Are Shipped, These Modules Are:

• Packaged in a resealable ESD bag for protection and easy storage.
