Description
These Latching Pushbutton DPDT Switches are primarily designed for light duty power switching.
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
- Qty 5 – Latching Pushbutton DPDT Switches
KEY FEATURES OF LATCHING PUSHBUTTON DPDT SWITCH:
- Double Pole / Double Throw (DPDT) switch
- Latching operation. Push ON / Push OFF
- Up to 12V @ 1.5A
They are arranged as DPDT and have 3 pins on each side, 6 pins total. When looking down on the switch and labeling the pins like a DIP-6 package, the pin-out is as shown in the pic on the right.
Our Evaluation Results:
Pins are on 2mm centers and so will work on a breadboard with a little coercion but are best used on a PCB with the correct spacing.
If using on a solderless breadboard, the two sides of the switch will be shorted together, so pins 1 & 6 will be tied together as will 2 & 5 and 3 & 4. Basically you end up with a SPDT switch which will work for most applications this might be used in.
These devices are rated for up to 1.5A @125VAC. Since these will typically be used for DC power switching, we tested the switch up to 12VDC@2A and it worked well at that power level, but it does not like higher voltages even at fairly low current levels, so I would restrict its use to 12VDC operation or less.
