Description

These JST RCY 2-pin male/female connectors are a compact tight-fitting connector ideal for RC toys and similar applications where vibration or tugging on the connection may occur.

These connectors are very tight fitting as they have an internal locking mechanism.  That makes them ideal for connections that you want to stay together when exposed to vibration or other forces.  They are popular for attaching smaller batteries in RC toys and similar applications.

The connectors are rated for up to 3A maximum current.  The PVC coated 24 AWG wires can handle 3A, but will be a bit warm under full load.

On a sample basis, we measured the following voltage drop across the connector/wire pairs.

• 12V / 1A = 0.15V
• 12V / 2A = 0.30V
• 12V / 3A = 0.45V

The female connector will also plug onto a standard 2-pin male header.  The firm insertion force does a good job of ensuring the connection stays tight and is suitable even for long-term use.

The connectors are well crimped to the wire which is good since the high insertion force and small size means you will tend to pull on the wires to disconnect the mating connectors
