Header Set Low Profile 1×14

Description

This is a full set of male/female low profile headers with standard 0.1″ spacing for 28-pin microcontrollers like the Teensy 4.0.

KEY FEATURES OF HEADER SET LOW PROFILE:

For the vertically challenged, we have these good quality low profile header sets available to reduce the stack-up height of socketed microcontrollers or other modules.  These are often used to minimize enclosure height or to position the MCU under something like an LCD for a more compact layout.

The female header socket body is 3.5mm (0.14″) tall and the contacts are gold flash.

The male header pin are 2.54mm (0.1″) long with a gold flash and have a 2.5mm (0.1″) tall plastic body.

When these headers are stacked, the combined height is 6.1mm (0.24″) to the bottom of the module.  This saves about 5mm (0.19″) in height over the standard height headers as shown in the picture.

Low Profile Header Comparison to Standard Header

When used with Teensy, the total stack-up from the baseboard to the top of the USB connector which is the highest point on the Teensy is 10.6mm.  The picture shows a Teensy 4.1, but the stack-up is the same.

The male headers are symmetrical and fully seat in the female header socket as shown in the picture below.  Even with a relatively short contact area, the headers mate with a solid mechanical and electrical connection.

These headers are also available on our Teensy 4.0 with soldered pins as an order option as shown below.  They are shipped with the male headers installed and the female header sockets loose in the bag.

Notes: 

• Due to the short mating pin length, these headers are not compatible with solderless breadboards.
