Description
The Buzzer / Alarm with Driver Module operates at 2.5 kHz and incorporates a transistor driver to reduce drive requirements.
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
- Buzzer / Alarm with Driver Module
KEY FEATURES OF BUZZER / ALARM DRIVER MODULE:
- Uses Active buzzer
- Includes transistor to drive buzzer with minimal drive current required
- 3.3 and 5V compatible
These modules incorporate an active buzzer with a transistor to drive the buzzer harder than can safely be done using some MCU with low current outputs.
It can be driven off 3.3 or 5V with an average current draw of 25mA when activated.
It is moderately loud with an operating frequency of around 2.5kHz, so it is best suited for use as an attention getting alarm. Here is a sound clip where it is being toggled on/off every second.
Module Connections
There is a 3-pin header on the assembly.
1 x 3 Header
- GND = Ground
- I/O = Signal input. Active HIGH sounds buzzer. Connect to a digital output pin on the MCU.
- VCC = 3.3 or 5V
OUR EVALUATION RESULTS:
These modules are useful for adding basic audible signaling to a project. Power draw from the drive pin is kept to a minimum due to the driver transistor that is included. It does not really drive the buzzer harder and overall sound levels are not much different than buzzers that are driven directly.
BEFORE THEY ARE SHIPPED, THESE MODULES ARE:
- Inspected
- Basic output verified
- Packaged in a resealable ESD bag for protection and easy storage.
Notes:
- None
