The AC to spade terminal 18AWG, 10A Power cord is convenient for connecting AC power to power supplies or terminal strips with screw terminal power connections.  This short 18″ version is useful for keeping things tidy when working with short wiring requirements.

When hooking up a power supply with screw terminal connections to an AC outlet, invariably you need to find an AC power cable, cut the female end off of it and crimp some spade terminals onto the wires or try to get the bare wires to stay under the screw terminals.  Not a big deal if you have the parts laying around, but it can be a hassle and get expensive if you need to buy the parts and build one from scratch.

As a service to our customers, we offer this medium duty high quality power cable to which we do the dirty work for you.  These are constructed with 18AWG stranded copper wire and use the standard color coding:

• Green = Ground
• White – Neutral
• Black = Line (hot)

The cut end with individual wires is protected with a sleeve of 3M adhesive heat shrink.

They come with Molex #6 22-18 AWG spade terminals standard.  These terminals are 8mm wide and will fit snugly into the standard 8mm wide terminal strips found on most power supplies which helps to keep them locked into place.  If you have a power supply with narrower 7mm wide terminal strips as found on some multi-output power supplies, we can use a narrower spade lug that is about 6mm wide.  The downside is that there is less ‘meat’ to the terminal, but that generally doesn’t create a problem.
