Description
This cable allows connecting between standard MIDI 5-pin DIN ports as used in some audio devices.
MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface and is used to transmit notes, pitch and other audio information between devices using a serial data protocol.
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
- MIDI 5-Pin DIN Cable, 6 Ft (2m)
KEY FEATURES OF MIDI 5-PIN DIN CABLE:
- Male-to-male connection
- 2m (6.5ft) length
- All 5 pins are wired straight-thru
- Non-shielded. Wire has foil shielding, but it is not terminated at either end.
The cable has a standard 5-pin DIN connector on both ends for connecting between MIDI ports on two different devices. The cable has all 5 pins wired straight through, so can work for MIDI which uses only 3 of the pins or other 5-pin DIN applications.
Since MIDI is a fairly low frequency digital signal, shielding is typically not required for good performance. For demanding applications with a lot of electrical noise or tightly packed cables, a properly shielded, twisted-pair cable should be used.
Notes:
