The Teensy 4.1 and Teensy Audio Adapter boards supports 1 of these 8-pin 16MB Flash chips to expand the memory on the module to 16MB (128M-bit).

These ICs provide additional non-volatile memory for the Teensy 4.1 board as well as the Teensy 3.x and Teensy 4.x Audio Adapter boards. They can be used to store audio or data files.
The larger footprint supports one of these 16MB Flash chips. In addition 8MB volatile PSRAM memory can be installed on the smaller footprint as shown in the pic.
The extRAM_t4 library is required to be installed to work with the external Flash memory.
Use the SPIFFS_t4 library to create a file system in the Flash memory.
Use this Teensy41_flashtest to test that the memory chip is properly mounted on the Teensy 4.1.
Preassembled Teensy 4.1 Fully Loaded
If the Teensy 4.1 sounds great but the soldering of SMD chips sounds less great, we have the Teensy 4.1 Fully Loaded. It has either 8MB PSRAM and 16MB Flash memory or 16MB PSRAM chips installed and fully tested. It also has the pins soldered on and has the header for the optional Ethernet added as well.
